When Girls Have Power, Everyone Shines

What do you get when you mix popsicles, glue, emotional growth, and a game called Sneaky Frog? Camp GOTR magic.

Last week, I had the honor of coaching alongside three rockstar women and a group of girls who called themselves The Unstoppable Girls—and they lived up to the name. From emotional meltdowns to marble miracles, these girls reminded me why the Path to Possibility is more than just a slogan. It’s real. And it’s beautiful.

Come see how one ordinary summer week turned into something unforgettable.

Making Room for the Impossible (and 2 Pallets of Shoes)

What do you do when you write a grant for hundreds of pairs of running shoes… and they all show up at your house? You find a way (and a very kind church with storage space).

Over the years, we’ve been told a lot of things were impossible—expanding into new counties, growing during a pandemic, running programs with no budget, never turning a girl away due to finances. But time and time again, we’ve made room for the impossible.

Because these girls are worth it. Every single time.

From Impossible to I’m Possible

What do a quiet 4th grader, a finish line, and a coffee cup outside Target have in common?
They’re all part of why I believe in this mission—and why we’re launching the Path to Possibility to support 500 girls this year.
The world is hard. Girls are hurting. But with your help, we can remind each one:
You matter. You are strong. You are not alone.
Come read the stories that light a fire in me—and find out how you can help keep that fire going.

What Showing Up Looks Like

Spoiler alert: this isn’t a story about speed.

It’s about sweat, showing up, and what happens when you decide to move with purpose—no matter your pace. On Global Running Day, our Executive Director shares what a 12-minute mile means to her… and why SoleMates isn’t just for elite runners.

Part 3: A Mental Health Movement in Disguise

We may be known for our 5Ks, but Girls on the Run is so much more than a running club. In the final part of our blog series, we pull back the curtain on what really happens during a season—and how our joyful, community-rooted program is delivering life-changing mental health support for girls across Virginia. If you've ever wondered how prevention actually looks in action—this is it.

Part 2:What Actually Works for Youth Mental Health

We often talk about the youth mental health crisis—but what’s missing from the conversation is what actually works. In Part 2 of our blog series, we take a closer look at prevention: what it means, how it shows up in schools, and why programs like Girls on the Run are delivering life-changing mental health support long before crisis hits. Prevention doesn’t have to be complicated—it just has to be consistent, caring, and rooted in connection. 💛
