Heart & Sole

Heart & Sole is an empowering program designed specifically for 6th-8th grade girls, combining life skills lessons with physical activity. The curriculum helps girls navigate the challenges of middle school while building confidence, strengthening friendships, and developing healthy habits. Through engaging activities, team discussions, and running, participants gain tools to set goals, manage emotions, and make positive choices—all while preparing for a season-ending 5K celebration that showcases their progress and potential. Heart & Sole fosters a safe, supportive space where every girl can thrive! πŸŒŸπŸ‘Ÿ

Registration Fees

The registration fee for Girls on the Run Piedmont is a maximum of $150—a price that’s stayed the same for 12 years to keep the program accessible.

Thanks to our generous donors and sponsors, we're able to offer a $400+ program for just $150 per girl—and financial aid is available during registration to ensure every girl can participate.

We’re so grateful for the community support that makes this life-changing experience possible! πŸ’–

Ma fille n’est pas une grande coureuse. Est-ce que ce programme lui conviendra? OU Ma fille est déjà une coureuse expérimentée. Est-ce que ce programme lui conviendra?

My girl isn't a big runner; is this program for her? OR My girl is already a skilled runner. Is this program for her?

Yes! We are much more than a running program, and every participant can benefit from the experience of building confidence through accomplishment while participating in our rich, curriculum-based, age-appropriate, interactive lessons. Expect lots of games, talking, laughing and processing in addition to running at each practice. And know that when we say run, we mean run, walk, skip, roll or push, just as long as you are moving foward!

What does the program fee include?

Although the cost per participant exceeds $400, thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, we’re able to offer the program for just $150. Your registration fee covers everything needed to make Girls on the Run a fun, safe, and meaningful experience for girls and volunteers alike. This includes:

  • Comprehensive GOTR curriculum and lesson materials
  • Activity sheets, lap counters, and other practice essentials
  • A GOTR program t-shirt
  • Entry to the season-ending 5K, including a bib and finisher’s medal
  • A healthy snack at every practice
  • Insurance and background checks for volunteers
  • Coach training and coach t-shirts
  • All the supplies and support that make this program unforgettable

We’re committed to creating a program that not only empowers girls but also builds a supportive and joyful community for everyone involved! 🌟

We can't afford the program registration fee, but our child would love to participate. How does the scholarship program work?

Don’t let cost hold you back! At Girls on the Run, we’re dedicated to ensuring every girl has the opportunity to participate. Thanks to our amazing donors and community supporters, scholarships are available to any family in need. We can even provide running shoes and attire if needed.

When registering, simply select the financial aid option. On the final page, you’ll have the chance to enter an amount your family can comfortably afford. We kindly ask that you request only what you need so we can extend support to as many girls as possible. Let’s make this season unforgettable for every girl! πŸ’–πŸ‘Ÿ

When does the 10-week season begin?

Practices will begin the week of September 2, 2025.  The culminating event will be the 5K on November 2, 2025. The days/times varies by team location. Coaches will reach out to the teams at the start of the season for further details.

Do girls need to attend both days each week in order to register?

Yes! Since most of our teams fill up quickly, if your girl will be unable to attend all the sessions, please save room for a girl who can, and consider joining us in a future season when she can enjoy the entire program.

Is there a way for me to sponsor a participant for a season?

Yes! As a mission-driven 501(c)3, Girls on the Run relies on the incredible generosity of donors to provide over $20,000 in program scholarships each year, ensuring that every girl can participate, regardless of financial barriers. Through our Champions for Change program, you can make a lasting impact. For as little as $10/month, you can sponsor a girl this season and help transform her life. πŸ’–πŸ‘Ÿ
